Stone Care International Quartz Clean & Shine is a pH-balanced daily cleaner made specifically for engineered quartz. It takes off grease and residue without going after the polymer resin that holds a quartz slab together.

That resin is the reason a separate bottle has to exist. Quartz runs to roughly 93% crushed natural stone bound with about 7% resin, and the binder is the vulnerable half of that equation. Harsh cleaners are not attacking the mineral; they are attacking the glue.

Since quartz resists staining, cleaning genuinely is the entire maintenance routine. Nothing to seal, nothing to wax, no yearly reminder. Get the bottle right and the list ends there.

What Damages a Quartz Counter?

Four things, and three of them are sitting under your sink.

High-pH cleaners

Oven cleaner, bleach and heavy-duty degreasers work away at the resin binder over time. Because the harm arrives slowly rather than at once, few people connect a dull patch with the spray they have been using for a year.

Dish soap, over the long run

Soap does no damage to quartz, but it leaves a film that accumulates and flattens the polish. This is far and away the commonest reason a quartz counter stops looking new, and a proper cleaner undoes it entirely.

Abrasives

Scouring pads, steel wool and powder cleansers scuff a polished surface for good. A plastic scraper lifts anything dried on without leaving a trace behind.

Wax and polish meant for stone

Wax has nowhere to go on quartz, so it stays on top, accumulates and yellows. Never put Cera Fluida or a granite polish on quartz, however well they perform on quarried stone.

How Do You Clean a Quartz Counter?

Three habits, and the counter looks after itself.

Deal With Spills as They Happen

Because spills stay on the surface rather than sinking in, a soft cloth clears nearly all of them. There is no race against staining here, only against how the counter looks between wipes.

A Daily Spray and Wipe

One light spray and a microfibre cloth is the whole routine. Break a long run into sections so the cleaner is not left to dry before you reach it, which is what puts streaks on a dark slab.

Take Dried Residue Off With Plastic

Candle wax, dried food and adhesive all lift with a plastic scraper and a little cleaner. Reach for the scraper rather than a scouring pad, since the pad is what does the lasting damage.

Can You Use a Granite Cleaner on Quartz?

No. The two are solving different problems.

No. A granite cleaner is built for an absorbent mineral surface, and a good many of them carry a polish or a light wax component meant to enrich quarried stone. On quartz that residue has nowhere to go, so it gathers on the surface.

It runs the other way too. This cleaner will do granite no harm, but it is not performing the job a granite product performs, and it will not do for sealed natural stone what a dedicated bottle would.

The distinction matters because the two bottles stand side by side at ₱1,700 and look near enough identical. Read the label on the one in your hand.

Where a kitchen has both materials, which is common when the island is quartz and the perimeter granite, buy both. It is the simplest way to avoid years of using the wrong bottle on the wrong surface.

Does Quartz Ever Need Sealing?

No. Not once, not ever.

No. A sealer works by filling the pore structure of a quarried stone so liquid cannot travel through it. The resin binder in engineered quartz leaves a sealer nothing to sink into, so it just dries on top as a film.

The question comes up constantly, usually because a contractor has told a customer that all stone counters need sealing. True of most quarried stone; false of every quartz we sell.

Anyone selling you sealer for a quartz counter without first asking what the counter is made of has not checked. If you are unsure what you have, the water test settles it: a few drops left on a spot nobody looks at for about fifteen minutes, and quartz will not darken underneath.

Wax and polish fall under the same heading. Quartz wants a cleaner, and that is the complete list.

What This Cleaner Will Not Fix

Three kinds of damage that no bottle reverses.

Heat Scorch

A pan lifted straight off the burner burns the resin, and that mark will not clean or polish out. Heat is the one genuine weak point of quartz, and it is why a trivet is not optional.

UV Yellowing

Long spells of direct sunlight shift quartz permanently towards yellow, which is why we keep it out of outdoor work. Fit blinds where a counter catches strong afternoon sun.

Scouring Scratches

Abrasive pads flatten the polish and no cleaner brings it back. Prevention is the whole remedy, so keep the scouring pad off the counter entirely.
