Stone Care International Granite & Stone Polish is a pH-neutral cleaner and polish for natural stone. It takes off grease and residue the way any stone cleaner would, and leaves the polished surface brighter than it found it.

That second job is what sets it apart from a plain cleaner. Polished granite rarely goes dull because the stone has changed. It goes dull because soap film, hard water residue and cooking grease have piled up over the polish.

This bottle clears that layer away and lets the reflection underneath come back. Nothing in it is abrasive and it does not repolish anything, so what you recover is the finish that was there all along.

Why Has My Granite Lost Its Shine?

Four causes, and only one of them is the stone’s doing.

Soap film, ahead of everything else

Washing-up liquid on a stone counter leaves a residue that builds invisibly across months. The stone beneath is untouched; what you are looking at is a layer of dried soap. Clearing it is exactly what a polish does.

Hard water deposits

Around a sink and a tap, mineral deposits settle as a cloudy bloom. Where the water is hard this happens quickly, and it is easily mistaken for damage to the polish itself.

Cooking grease

An airborne film settles right across a kitchen rather than only on the counter. If the dullness covers one broad area instead of appearing in patches, grease is usually the answer.

Genuine wear, which this will not fix

Scouring pads, abrasive powders and acid etching damage the surface physically. No cleaner or polish reverses that, and Stone Depot does not offer repolishing or restoration work. Prevention is the only remedy.

How Do You Use Granite & Stone Polish?

Three steps, and the first is the one people skip.

Clear the Build-Up Before You Polish

Where a counter carries months of soap film, the first pass is doing cleaning work rather than polishing work. Expect to go over a neglected surface twice before the shine shows up.

Work a Section at a Time

Spray an area you can manage and wipe it before it dries. Over a long run, or under strong light, product left to dry on the surface streaks, and streaks on dark granite are impossible to miss.

Finish With a Dry Cloth

Follow up with clean dry microfibre to bring the reflection up evenly. That step is the difference between a counter that is clean and a counter that looks new.

Does Polishing Replace Sealing?

No, and this is the misunderstanding that costs money.

No. A polish works across the surface and makes the stone look its best. A sealer works down in the pores and keeps oil and wine from soaking in. A counter can look immaculate and have no protection at all.

They are not alternatives, and the polish is not the important half. If you are deciding where the money goes, Proseal at ₱4,600 defends the stone; this bottle at ₱1,700 makes it shine.

Check the seal with the water test rather than by eye. Leave a few drops on a spot nobody looks at for about fifteen minutes, and if the stone darkens underneath it wants sealing however good the polish looks.

Not every stone needs a sealer in the first place. Absolute Black, Black Galaxy, Tan Brown and Marigold are tight enough to skip it, and color is no guide to which ones those are.

Can You Use It on Engineered Quartz?

No. There is a reason the brand makes a second bottle.

No. This one is built for an absorbent mineral surface. Quartz resists staining and is bound with polymer resin, so a stone polish leaves residue sitting on top instead of doing anything useful.

Will it remove a stain?

No. A stain has gone into the stone, so it needs a poultice to draw it back out rather than a surface cleaner. Ask the Laguna branch which poultice suits the mark and the material.
